****CLOSED**** The building that used to house Barry's Steaks has been completely demolished. It was attached to an older restaurant that had been closed for years, now they're both just rubble that hasn't been hauled away yet. Very disappointing since Barry's was an excellent choice for a delicious cheesesteak in the area. Hopefully they're moving to another location that I'm just not aware of yet.

I hesitate to say best steaks in town because there are a lot of options that I have not tried...but Barry's Steaks rocks! I like their Coop with fried mushrooms. They never fail to deliver and their delivery (haha) is quick and painless. Haven't actually been to the location because I am hermit and delivery works great, but looking forward to going to their new location when they reopen. Definitely recommend if you're in Roxborough and don't want to wait in line at Delessandros.

Barry's has a solid cheesesteak! They call it The Coop and it's definitely in my top 10. Price is fair, customer service is on point and it's conveniently located in Manayunk

Been a hot minute since I've had a good Philly cheese steak so naturally, my first stop in the Philly area was this place. I actually tried to go to dellasandros first, only to find it was closed for construction or outta business. That said, don't sleep on Barry's. Old school diner vibe with a friendly staff serving up some tasty steak sammiches. Worth checkin out for sure. 4.3 outta 5

After unfortunate incidents at Dallesandros we found Barry's. Nice polite and accommodating. Sandwich was fresh with right amount of crisp in bread. We all got mushroom steak sandwiches and it was very satisfying also tried their home drinks which kids enjoyed. Forget over hyped places come here and enjoy your food

My first-ever visit to Philly, and my friend (a born-and-raised Philly local) took me here over other cheesesteak places--and I'm so glad she did! - Service was super friendly. The lady chatted us up and made some recommendations to me since it was my first time have an actual authentic Philly cheesesteak (the wannabe places in SF don't count). She brought over the red sauce, banana peppers, and another bunch of peppers for me to try. - I got the sandwich with steak and provolone. Omg. It was amazing, and I ate the entire thing despite knowing I should've stopped about halfway through. The bread, the meat, the onions, the cheese...I added both the banana peppers and the other, spicier peppers for a bit of kick. - Ordered the curly fries. SO much better than Arby's version and totally recommend for sharing because it's a lot of fries, especially if you order a regular sandwich instead of a mini. - Have to get their homemade sodas. I tried the orange cream and recommend that if you like orange creamsicles! I wish I had had the time to go back for another meal because it was that good. Definitely going back next time I'm in Philly!

Quick, meaty, and made to order. I cannot comment on dine-in, however, Barry's Steaks has you covered on take out. I made a quick stop on the way to catch up with friends at Barry's. I ordered a cheesesteak hoagie. I liked how they offered a mini alongside a regular, however, given this trip was my first visit, I opted for a regular. They turned the order around in about 5 minutes and I was on my way. The cheesesteak hoagie delivered a ton of meat alongside the usual hoagie fixings. It tasted great and given the size and price was a good value. Service was friendly, but again I was only in and out in a few minutes. Alongside the usual cheesesteak, hoagie, burger options, they do sell their own soda. These sodas are throwbacks imo with flavors like black cherry, white birch, etc. I'd say they are willing to give as try as well. I cannot say if I'll be dining in at Barry's anytime soon. However, I will be in for take out in the near future.

Amazing -- highly recommend. Better than Dalessandros? Don't @ me. Neighborhood vibe. The women working the counter are so friendly and seem to have a ball working together. We had the chicken cheesesteak, fries, and mozz sticks. The chicken was diced thin but still juicy. The bread: meat ratio was perfect! Steak fries were still crispy when I got home.

Local friends have been talking about Barry's as a bit of a lesser known secret to get cheesesteaks. I finally gave it a try and have been twice so far. First time, the Alpine: steak with Swiss cheese and a brown gravy. It was ok, flavor was good, a little short on the gravy with could have used a little more seasoning/salt (just my opinion.) We got a bunch of sides. Second time, I went for a more traditional steak: fried onions, peppers, American cheese, and ketchup. Very solid! Onions and peppers were fried up just right adding a bit of sweetness. I also got the chicken tenders which were really good, plus split a side of mozzarella sticks (5 per order is a little skimpy), and fries (they're like a steak fry, large size side, and just enough salt for me.) Definitely will be sharing the recommendation to get a steak from here.

Barry's was the back up plan to Delassandros. We called in our order, waited in the parking lot and threw on some jams. The order: Home made root beer was similar to Stewart's. Onion rings were think cut and just the way I like them. Not skimpy. Mini Italian Cheesesteak with extra cheese was pretty good but the meat wasn't as much as everyone claimed it was. The roll fresh, nice. I wasn't amazed by this cheesesteak but I had no complaints. If I was doing a trendy tourist cheesesteak run it wouldn't be on my list. Philly is a cheesesteak snob city so now you know. It's just a decent place for a lunch with easy parking and quick in and out. They even gave us nice plastic plates, plenty of napkins. Saturday 3pm (prime lunch time) easy and our covid 2020 takeout was a fun carside picnic.
